Care in a Supportive Setting

When there is a need for short-term, crisis stabilization to help people regain control over their lives, Paradise Valley Hospital Behavioral Health System is available to help. We provide immediate assistance for adults in need, 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Under the guidance of a behavioral health psychiatrist, our dedicated, multidisciplinary team implements a patient-centered inpatient mental health program to specifically meet the needs of people with a wide range of mental illness and chemical dependency issues. Inpatient hospitalization offers intensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment in a comforting environment. After a patient is admitted, he or she receives a comprehensive assessment of needs and strengths in essential areas of functioning such as self-care, social skills, vocational adjustment and symptom management. A patient-specific treatment plan is then created, identifying the patient's needs and the most effective way to reach his or her recovery goals. When designing the treatment plan, we encourage the involvement of the patient, the patient's primary care physician and other professionals. The plan may include psychopharmacologic regimens and a full range of psychological interventions. In order to best meet the needs of our patients, referring physicians are encouraged to provide treatment for their hospitalized patients.
